Made in Cherry quilt along

Anyone up for a quilt along?  As soon as I saw market shots of Sarah Fielke's Made in Cherry pattern, I was!

Sarah Fielke's Made in Cherry from the Lecien website

This is an easy peasy quilt that should go together really quickly.  Sarah's pattern has great instructions and I'll do a condensed version here every week for the quilt along - starting mid January.  Sound good?  Then join me!  Come on, you know you want to!!

Since most of us are putting together lists this time of year, here's the yardage requirements for this 80" by 80" quilt:

20" of 8 different fabrics (that's just over 1/2 yard each)*
2 1/2 yards of background fabric

* OR 220 charm squares (if your charm packs have the standard 42 per pack, you'll need 5 packs plus 10 charms cut from your stash - or 6 packs)

And if the size is scaring you, I'll be posting alternate instructions for a scaled down 60" by 60" top, perfect for snuggling.

  5. I'm very tempted! I like that you can make with charm packs as I have so many! Is anybody going that route? It looks the charms would have to be cut down or maybe I should just make a bigger quilt.

  12. I love this quilt! I won't let myself join in on the quilt along since I've got too many WIPs and I'm really trying to trim that list down. I'll be following along and watching what everyone comes up with! I love the button you made!

  19. Can you please tell me what size the square are on the 80 by 80 quilt. I just saw this and I want to join in but I'm wondering if fat quarters would work.

  21. This sounds like so much fun and I absolutely love Sarah's patterns.
I am going to do the smaller version. I think I figured it out that I can get 20 3.5" squares from 1 FQ and I would need 11 FQs. I hope that's correct.

  22. I'm in! Why not add this lovely quilt to the other projects on my to do list. I love stars and I like the scrappyness of the inside of the star.

  23. I am joining in late, but already have half of my main square together. I am doing a scrappy mini with blocks cut to 1.5 inches. I saw someone had made a mini of this and it was lovely. I also want to do a big one in oranges and teals--I have the fabric, but not sure I can quilt 80 x 80 on my machine!

  24. Did you make the 60 x 60 version? Can you send me the link?
