berries

mouse over to see what type of berries we picked

With the weather suddenly turning hot these last 2 weeks I haven't been doing much sewing.  What I have been doing is watching the berries in the woods nearby as they slowly ripen.  Today Bea and I headed out early and gathered a few.  These will go into the freezer to wait patiently for more to ripen.  Then jam.  Yay for a hike without bears!

  1. Beautiful! My daughters were picking huckleberries off the bush with their Grandpa this past weekend and they both loved it.

  4. Beautiful variety! The raspberries are just starting around here. I am also on the lookout for elderberries. :) I want to make some elderberry syrup this year for cocktails and fizzy drinks.
