Plans, schemes, and ... um, thesaurus?

So, now that my postage stamp quilt along top is done, the question is what to do with it? I'm not really a throw quilt kind of gal. We have a few around, mostly quilts Jamie's grandfather made for him, and they're mostly used by the cats.

the top now

When it's cold I'm usually wearing long underwear so snuggling under a quilt isn't that necessary. And when it's really cold I just get into bed! So. This 60" x 80" top needs to be rigged into a bed quilt. Did I mention we have a king size? I so need a megaquilter!!!

the plan

So this is what I'm thinking for the top. I've added 2 more columns of the postage stamp blocks to bring it up to 80 by 80, a 2" white border all around, then a 10" border of the scarf print. In real life it won't look as craptastic as the photoshop version, I promise!!! Thank goodness I have until April, there's way too much of this line that I need yardage of.

adios yo,

Quilt along - done!

Yay! After a mammoth sewing session, the postage stamp top is done! The fact that the hubby was sick in bed on Sunday helped quite a bit. Other than taking the dog for a hike and to the dog park, I didn't have to do anything other than sew all day. Best Sunday plans ever!

So here's some spam, spammity spam all about my postage stamps top!

Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to finish it. I need to bulk it up to king size, I'm thinking a few more columns of postage stamp blocks and a border from the scarf print. At least I have a while to plan since I don't think the sherbet pips line is officially out until April.

Progress

Not as much as I'd hoped, but some. Actually I've sewn all but 4 of my strip sets and have some more waiting cutting in my cutting room (yeah, that would be the kitchen). I had a job interview today (yay) so that took up time then when I came home management (the cats) had kicked me off my cutting table (kitchen island, aka the place the cats eat because the dog can't get at their food there).

I also had a major 21st century versus 19th century techno clash. One where I come off looking like a real dumbass. I had to google how to set a mouse trap. See, we have a mousey under the sink and apparently Luce was chasing it last night/early this morning. I could sleep through a home invasion but the hubs did not like. So. Traps. And the google. Thank goodness for google.

To keep you from ever suffering the same fate, here's youtube, on me:

The zombie apocalypse is coming y'all. We need skillz.
